SINGAPORE TO PRESENT BONDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR WITH NEW HEAD COACH ANGE POSTECOGLOU

SINGAPORE, 15 June 2023 – Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach Ange Postecoglou has shared that he sees the upcoming pre-season training tour as a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other and form the best bonds ahead of his first season in charge of the North London club.

Postecoglou, who made history by becoming the first Australian to become a Premier League head coach, will be making his first trip to Singapore with Tottenham Hotspur for a highly-anticipated clash against AS Roma at the National Stadium on 26 July.

In his comments shared with club media, he highlighted the importance of pre-season preparation as well as his anticipation of an electrifying atmosphere at the National Stadium as he looks forward to greeting avid Spurs fans during the Singapore Festival of Football Driven by CDG Zig.

Postecoglou said: “We get to spend a lot of time together, which I think is a good thing because as much as anything else, we need to get to know each other as people… These are the times where we can maybe give back to those who haven’t had the fortune to see us live too often.”

At the National Stadium, the Tiger Cup: Tottenham Hotspur vs AS Roma on 26 July kicks off an action-packed week of world-class football action here as Singapore hosts the inaugural Singapore Festival of Football Driven by CDG Zig.

Liverpool FC (LFC) will defend their Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy against Leicester City FC on 30 July before they take on Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich in the Singapore Trophy, presented by Audi and Standard Chartered, on 2 August.

Spurs and LFC will also hold open training sessions at the National Stadium on 25 July and 29 July respectively.

Besides world-class football action, spectators can also look forward to a series of entertaining offerings at the Football Fan Interactive Festival Village throughout the week. The village will be open to the public on open training and match days as well as on 1 Aug, a day before the final match between Liverpool FC and FC Bayern Munich.

Complementing the main events at the National Stadium, the village will be home to a wide range of engagement activities as well as food and beverage options to give local and foreign fans the complete festival experience.
